Until now, I have only slightly understood and witnessed the effects of Alzheimer’s disease on a person. This documentary, presented by Chief Medical Correspondent Jonathan LaPook of CBS News 60 Minutes, gives an incredibly profound viewpoint of the 10-year progression it has from diagnosis to debilitating conditions. The couple, Mike and Carol Daly of Staten Island, NY, have been married for 53 years and have taken vows to take care of each other “for better or worse”. But they didn’t anticipate how worse their lives would be when they had gotten older. This video shows you an incredible impact the disease has on Carol and how badly her memory begins to deteriorate and the struggles on her husband to continue to give Carol care and a good quality of life.
